🌱 Pet 'Pfest' Returns To The Library + SXSW Back In Hybrid Form

Here are the top stories today in North Austin-Pflugerville:
- The Pflugerville Library welcomes back Pet 'Pfest' on March 16 from 2-4 p.m.! "'Pfun' pet-themed craft kits" will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis, and individuals will have a chance of winning a special prize bag by signing up at pflugervilletx.gov/petpfest from now until the day of the event. The prize bag includes "library swag, dog and cat toys/goodies, and more." You can also receive goodies by submitting a photo of you reading with your pet, which will "be featured on the library's social media." - After two years of taking place virtually due to COVID-19, Austin's SXSW is back this year in a hybrid format from March 11-20. There will be "hundreds of in-person events" such as conferences, exhibitions, and festivals in music, film and comedy. "All SXSW 2022 badges will have access to SXSW Online" but those that can't make the events in person will have an opportunity to obtain an Online Pass as well. - This past weekend, a person died in North Austin in a crash involving a motorcycle and a white van. The accident occurred at Middle Fiskville Road and the I-35 northbound ramp. When the ambulance arrived, medics performed CPR on the motorcycle driver but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on the scene. No other injuries occurred, but "the service road was shut down most of the night to make way for investigation by APD." (KEYE TV CBS Austin)

- Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet at the Courtyard by Marriott Austin in Pflugerville. (5:30 p.m.)
- Create Your Future Night and meet with various college & military representatives at Pflugerville High School. (5:30 p.m.)
- Mario Kart 8 Tournament at Pflugerville Recreation Center. Cost is $4 and registration is required at CommunityPass. (6 p.m.)
- International Women's Day MUZINGO (Music Bingo) Event Hosted by Get It Gals at Turnstile Coffee, Beer and Spirits in Pflugerville. Seating is first come, first-served. (7:30 p.m.)

- "The 'Telling a People's Story' exhibit, on loan from the Miami University Art Museum, is now open at Pflugerville Public Library is available to view through April 1. For the first time, African American children's illustrated literature is the focus of a museum exhibition featuring art produced for book illustrations. 'Telling A People's Story' is a celebration of the power of illustrated children's books that showcases their story. An exhibit guide is located at the host desk." (Facebook)
- "It's time for your recommendations for the final two 'Will Eisner' week posts at the Pflugerville Public Library! The top juvenile graphic novel is 'Cat Kid' comic club.
