Here are the top stories today in North Austin-Pflugerville:

  1. Previously Pflugerville Independent School District officials announced they would cancel classes on Thursday, Feb. 3. However, they are extending school closures to Friday, Feb. 4. Per an updated release, the extension was decided out of "an abundance of caution due to the inclement weather and dangerous road conditions in our area." The school board also canceled its Thursday meeting, and sports events scheduled for Friday, Feb. 4 are postponed. (Community Impact Newspaper)
  2. Something is brewing soon in the downtown Pflugerville area! A new brewpub called Prost Alehouse will be coming to town this late spring or early summer. The venue located at 115 E. Main St. will serve "a rotating selection of craft beers brewed in-house as well as guest beers and wines" and "will feature a deck, a taproom, and a family- and pet-friendly biergarten." For more information visit https://prostalehouse.com and: (Community Impact Newspaper)
  3. Live music and markets and more, oh my! This weekend, you can do all that in Pflugerville and surrounding areas. So many fun events for all to enjoy, such as Valentine's Day themed artwork shows and Black History Month art exhibitions, but that's not all! There's also local barbecue, burger or brunch spots where you can stop to eat before you continue with the fun! Take the family, or go with friends or with a date, or maybe even go solo! Just have a fun time on the town, but please check with the venues before heading out to be sure there are no weather-related cancellations. For details, visit: (Community Impact Newspaper)
