PFLUGERVILLE, TX — The Deutschen Pfest Parade and Children's Parade that had been scheduled for this weekend have been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather, city officials said on Friday.

City officials in a previous advisory offered a weekend filled with "pfun" for Deutschen Pfest, the city's largest community festival slated for May 17-19. The 44th annual "pfest" is set to start on Friday night, May 17, at Pfluger Park, 515 City Park Rd. with carnival rides, vendors, food trucks and live music. Local community dance teams, school performers, German and rock music are among the highlights of the annual community gathering.

Despite the cancellation of the two parades, city officials stressed the pfestival itself and an accompanying 5K are not impacted. City officials said they would post further weather updates on their social media sites and deutschenpfest.com. in keeping residents apprised.
