Pflugerville Citizens Police Academy Registration Now Open

The 34-hour course of instruction aims to give residents a working knowledge of the police department's policies and operational practices.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Registration is now open for the Pflugerville Citizens Police Academy where residents can get a close-up look at the police department policies and operational practices.

The academy is a 34-hour course of instruction aimed at giving the public a working knowledge of the inner workings of the Pflugerville Police Department. The program primarily consists of two-hour classes on Thursdays from Feb. 8 through May 10.

The comprehensive course covers a different area of police work each week, led by certified police officers, supervisors and civilian personnel. Applicants must work, reside or own a business in the city limits or extraterritorial jurisdiction of Pflugerville and be at least 18 years old.

Upon completion, graduates might consider participation in the Citizens on Patrol program, which aims to help Pflugerville police reduce crime, improve community awareness, and facilitate partnerships between the community and the Pflugerville Police Department.
