Pflugerville City Council Approves Funding For Trail, Sidewalk Gaps

Contract that could cost up to $850,000 is funded through a $25M in bond proceeds approved by voters in 2014.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- City Council members this week approved funding for trail and sidewalk gaps focused primarily at the Gilleland Creek Trail.

During it last regular council meeting March 8, council members awarded a construction contract not to exceed $850,000 for three sidewalk connections, a pedestrian bridge and five trail gap segments.

Each of those priorities were identified in the city’s Trails Master Plan, funded from the $25 million Parks General Obligation Bond that was approved by voters in 2014.

The scope of the project includes a pedestrian bridge connecting from Settlers Valley Trail to Mountain View Drive, five trail gap segments and three sidewalk connections, city officials said.

The new trails include segments along Gilleland Creek Trail from Parkview Drive to Sunny Oak Court. Additional trail segments are planned along Dessau Road to Bohls Loop and Brookhollow Trail to Greenbrook Parkway.
