Pflugerville City Council Candidates Head To Runoff Election After Special Election

Jeff Marsh and Jim McDonald will square off again in early September after garnering less than 50 percent of vote during special election.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- Two candidates vying for the Pflugerville City Council Place 2 seat are headed to a runoff election after securing the most votes in a four-way race in a special election on Saturday.

Jeff Marsh and Jim McDonald received 370 votes (42 percent) and McDonald got 261 (30 percent), respectively, according to city officials. The other two candidates trailed behind -- Victor Johnson getting 138 votes and Victor To securing 100 votes.

Given that neither March nor McDonald got more than 50 percent of the vote, a runoff election between the two men is now scheduled for Sept. 6. The final votes were yet unofficial as of late Saturday, but will be canvassed Aug. 15, officials said.
