Pflugerville Clean Up Day Canceled Due To Weather (Updated)
Given a 90 percent chance of thunderstorms in the Austin area on Saturday, April 6, collection of bulk items is now nixed.

PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS — The Cleanup Day that was scheduled this Saturday has been canceled given the possibility of thunderstorms, officials said Thursday.
The Pflugerville Cleanup Day had been scheduled to enable residents to leave large items on their curbs for work crews to retrieve and dispose of them. It's a spring tradition during which larger-than-normal items — from bed frames and chairs to mattresses and toilets — can be placed curbside during the weekly trash pickup schedule.
Enter Mother Nature to throw a wrench in the works. According to the National Weather Service, Saturday calls for a 90 percent chance of thunderstorms in the Austin area. The chance of thunderstorms drops to 50 percent by Saturday night, but by then it will have been a moot point given that Pflugerville Cleanup Day would have ended at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6.
