Pflugerville Community Development Corp. Gets High Accreditation

City economic development arm gets Advanced Economic Development Organization accreditation from International Economic Development Council.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation has received the Advanced Economic Development Organization accreditation from the International Economic Development Council, officials said on Tuesday.

With the honor, the PCDC becomes one of just of 65 economic development organizations to receive the accreditation internationally, and only one of 9 in Texas.

The AEDO program is a comprehensive peer review process that measures economic development organizations against commonly held professional standards, officials explained. The program consists of two phases: a documentation review and an on-site visit. Each phase is designed to evaluate information about the structure, organization, funding, programs, and staff of the candidate economic development organization.

“I commend the PCDC board and staff for the hard work and continued focus on excellence that is mandatory to receive this distinction,” PCDC Executive Director Amy Madison said in a prepared statement. “The accreditation is not only a rare award from the IEDC, but also a positive nod from our community leaders, regional economic development partners and business associates who were part of the stringent assessment.”

According to the IEDC, earning the AEDO accreditation distinguishes the PCDC among its economic development peers and shows not only future prospects but the community that the PCDC has attained a measure of excellence and assures that only the most responsible economic development takes place within the community.

Madison will receive the AEDO accreditation plaque on behalf of the PCDC and be recognized during a special ceremony at the annual IEDC conference in September.

Maintenance and review of the AEDO status is required every three years and is accomplished through continued documentation submission and/or on-site visits by a team of the AEDO subcommittee from IEDC to ensure best practices are maintained by accredited organizations, officials explained.
