AUSTIN, TX — The Pflugerville Police Department will be handing out blue ribbons over the next several weeks to recognize National Police Week 2019 in honoring the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officials killed in the line of duty while protecting the community.

National Police Week 2019 is Sunday, May 12, through Saturday, May 18. Residents are encouraged to hang blue ribbons on trees in their front yard in support of law enforcement, officials said. There are three opportunities to get your blue ribbon before Police Week begins and show your support:

  • Blue ribbons will be available for pick-up in the lobby of the Justice Center located at 1611 Pfennig Lane on Wednesday, May 1 through Friday, May 10 during regular business hours.
  • Join police officers for the upcoming Café con la Policia on Friday, May 3, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at La Casita located at 800 W. Pecan Street and pick up a Blue Ribbon.
  • A final chance to pick up a ribbon will be at the Pflugerville City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 14. At this meeting, show your support as the mayor reads a proclamation recognizing National Police Week in the City of Pflugerville.

This year, Lieutenant Jared Bruno and Corporal Alex Grana will represent the Pflugerville Police Department and visit our nation’s capital to stand in solidarity with other departments from around the country in honor of this year’s National Police Week, officials noted.
