Pflugerville ISD Asking For Public's Help In Naming New High School And Elementary School

The high school is the fourth one for fast-growing Pflugerville, and the elementary school is the 21st one to be built.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- Pflugerville ISD officials are inviting residents to submit name ideas for a new high school and elementary school.

The high school in the fast-growing community is the school district's fourth, while the elementary school is the 21st for the district. Both are scheduled to open next fall.

School officials said nominations for names can be submitted throughout September. Submissions will be forwarded to the Pflugerville ISD board of trustees and its naming committee for consideration, officials said. The board will make a final decision on the chosen names at its November regular meeting.

“We feel parent and community engagement is important to the process of naming Pflugerville ISD facilities as they belong to the communities they serve,” PfISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Alex Torrez said. “I invite our parents and community members to help us select names that will reflect the proud history and future of Pflugerville ISD.”

Both High School #4 and Elementary #21 were part of the successful 2014 bond referendum. Officials said the schools will "...help the district manage the significant growth that is occurring in the central and eastern portions of PfISD."
