Pflugerville Library Briefly Closed After Gas Leak Detected

The facility has since been reopened after utility officials disconnected the affected line.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- Patrons of the Pflugerville Public Library were evacuated after officials detected a gas leak, prompting the closure an hour-long closure of the facility.

The library has since been reopened.

At about 10:45 a.m., library officials guided patrons out to close the site on the advice of gas utility officials, according to a municipal advisory. The day’s scheduled programs and classes were postponed until further notice, city officials said.

But by 11:24 a.m., the library opened its doors again.

“The gas company disconnected the line, and customers were allowed back into the library,” city officials said in the advisory. “The library is open and programs and checking out books can now resume.”
