Pflugerville Library To Observe Black History Month

Discussion on Pflugerville Historic Colored Addition Cemetery to take place along with readings related to the annual observance.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Black History Month will be celebrated this month at the Pflugerville Public Library.

A discussion on the Pflugerville Historic Colored Addition Cemetery will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the library located on 1008 W. Pfluger St.

The observance includes:

  • A Storytelling panel hosted by Meme Styles. Storytellers include Mayor Victor Gonzalez, Bertha Russell & Ernestine Brooks.
  • Narratives of longtime Pflugerville families presented by the youth of the Excellence And Advancement Foundation.
  • A reading of Louis Smith’s Slave Narrative by James Ware.
  • A short video about the cemetery.

Organizers include the Pflugerville Historical Society, James Ware, History Diggers and the Heritage House Museum Partners.
