Pflugerville Lures Two New Headquarters Spurring Economic Development

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — A pair of corporate headquarters are locating in Pflugerville following approval of economic development agreements during Tuesday's city council meeting.

Accent Food Services Inc., is expected to build a new regional headquarters at 2919 A.W. Grimes Blvd. and MW Builders will relocate from Temple to build a new base at the intersection of Sun Light Way and Helios Way, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

As part of the deal with Accent Food Services, the company will invest a minimum of $4 million throughout the term of a five-year agreement on land acquisition and purchase of construction and machinery, according to the report. The company agreed to hire 85 employees by December 2018 and add five workers every year thereafter for a total staff of 105 by 2022, the report indicates.

The company previously was located in the Austin extraterritorial jurisdiction of Pflugerville. Financial inducements included in the agreement reportedly total $159,000 over five years but capped at $30,000 each year.

The MW Builders deal hinged on a $25,000 relocation grant annually for three years for a total of $75,000, according to the report. The company will hire 30 workers in the first year of a five-year pact with the city, the newspaper reported.

MW Builders has had a presence of sorts in Pflugerville for some time now, with some 40,000 square feet of its projects either built or under construction within city limits, a city officials said at the council meeting.
