Pflugerville Man Arrested After Exposing Himself To 12-Year-Old Neighbor

Erick Jose Rapalo, 31, had arrived to neighbors' home for a barbecue when he came into contact with their 12-year-old daughter in backyard.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — A Pflugerville man was arrested for indecency with a child after allegedly exposing himself to a girl after giving her money while her parents were at the store, according to media reports.

According to an arrest affidavit, Erick Jose Rapalo, 31, called his neighbors to alert him he had arrived outside their home for a planned barbecue, CBS Austin and other media outlets reported. He was asked to wait in the backyard until their arrival, the news station reported.

The couple's 12-year-old daughter happened to be in the backyard at the time, playing with the family dog, according to reports. Rapalo is said to have given the girl $30 while pulling down his jeans, exposing his genitals to her, the news station reported.

According to the affidavit, Rapalo asked the girl to touch his penis, grabbing her hand and pulling her toward him although no contact was made. The couple returned home to find their daughter clearly upset by what had transpired, and the father called 911 when she told them what had happened in their absence, according to the report.

The accused man has since been charged with indecency with a child, which is a third-degree felony. According to Travis County Jail records, Rapalo's bond has been set at $50,000. Information on that website also indicates Rapalo is on an immigration detainer at the behest of Immigration Customs & Enforcement (ICE) officials.
