Pflugerville National Night Out Ranked 2nd In Texas

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Pflugerville was once again recognized for its excellence in National Night Out programming, ranking 2nd among Texas cities in its population category and 13th in the nation, officials announced Thursday.

Neighborhoods across Pflugerville staged 58 parties on Oct. 1, attended by more than 5,600 people, officials said.

The National Association of Town Watch recently released the rankings based on the number of registered block parties and other information and photographs provided by community members and officers, officials explained. Pflugerville competed against cities with populations between 50,000 and 100,000, city officials added.

National Night Out is an annual event that allows community members to get to know their police and neighbors. Neighborhoods host block parties that are attended by police and city officials in order to strengthen relationships and make communities safer.

Next year’s event is planned for Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, in Pflugerville.
