Pflugerville Official Completes Leadership Development Program
Pflugerville Community Development Corp. Executive Director Amy Madison earns Advanced Economic Development Leadership diploma.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — The Pflugerville Community Development Corp. executive director recently graduated from an intensive leadership development program, city officials announced on Tuesday.
Amy Madison completed the Advanced Economic Development Leadership (AEDL) program, officials said in a press advisory, earning an Economic Development Master Practitioner (EDMP) diploma. AEDL is a two-week executive education program developed cooperatively by the University of Alabama, Clemson University, Texas Christian University and the University of Southern Mississippi.
The dynamic curriculum of AEDL was designed to expand and enhance the skills of senior-level economic development professionals by providing courses of study in innovation, project management, communications, negotiation and other economic development areas, officials explained. World-class faculty and industry practitioners presented leading-edge strategies and techniques necessary in the competitive and evolving world of job creation, city officials added.

“This was a great opportunity to further the advanced leadership skills needed to enhance economic development in a fast-growth community,” Madison said. “It also demonstrates the strong commitment the PCDC Board has placed on professional development for our board members and our staff."

As executive director, Madison works with a four-member staff to recruit and retain companies, assists with workforce education, and develop marketing for the City of Pflugerville — recently named by the U.S. Census in 2018 as the third fastest growing city in the United States with a population of 50,000 or more. During her tenure, the PCDC has successfully recruited more than 1,791 jobs across more than 35 projects.
In addition to earning the EDMP designation, Madison is also a Certified Economic Development Professional, a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional, and a Certified Public Manager. She has completed the Oklahoma University - Economic Development Institute, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Phillips University as well as master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.
