Pflugerville Police Launch Highway Interdiction Team With K-9s
HIT unit comprises three K9 teams with an officer and a police canine on each team, Pflugerville Police chief explained.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — The Pflugerville Police Department has launched its new Highway Interdiction Team (HIT) comprising three K9 teams with an officer and a police canine on each team.
“The specialized training this new team has received will significantly enhance our law enforcement capabilities,” said Pflugerville Police Chief Jessica Robledo. “Our resources are maximized by having these officers and their K9 partners as part of this department.”
Earlier this month, all three K9 teams successfully passed the three-week, 120-hour certification course which consisted of various K9 law enforcement procedures, such as narcotics detection, handler protection, building searches, vehicle bailout and basic first aid and safety training, officials said The HIT Team consists of Officer Billy Brown and his K9 partner, Kara, Officer Matthew Condreay and his K9 partner, Tymo and Officer Glenn Hodgson and his K9 partner, Isa.

HIT is a part of the Highway Enforcement Division, and will focus on narcotics-related crime, as well as working with regional partners. The Highway Enforcement Unit consists of Motor Officers, Traffic Detectives, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and Traffic Officers.
