Pflugerville Police Reward Safety-Conscious Kids With Ice Cream Treats

Throughout the summer, children observed exercising safety precautions will get a ticket redeemable for ice cream.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Police on Monday launched a program related to safety designed to issue citations to children. But these are good citations, of the frozen treat kind, given to children observing taking safety precautions while out in public this summer.

The police department's annual "Cool Moves" program rewards children observers by officers who look both ways before crossing a street, wearing a helmet while riding their bikes, walking their bicycles across crosswalks and other safety measures. Such safety-conscious kids will receive a ticket redeemable fora free ice cream cone.

This year, the program is supported with free ice cream cones from Andy's Frozen Custard, Dairy Queen, Pecan Street Deli, Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, Chick-fil-A and In and Out Burger. For more information, click here.
