Pflugerville Police Schedule 'Coffee With A Cop' Gathering
Residents are invited to a free cup of coffee at Starbucks while interacting with officers in a relaxed setting.
PFLUGERVILLE, TX — The Pflugerville Police Department will host a "Coffee with a Cop" gathering next week enabling residents to interact with officers in a relaxed setting.
Such gatherings have been adopted at police departments elsewhere as an accessible way for residents to hear directly from officers about community policing efforts and to address any concerns or air issues in a casual environment. To that end, the community gathering is scheduled on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Starbucks on 1709 E. Pflugerville Parkway.
Ahead of the event, officers are poised to discuss issues facing Pflugerville while encouraging residents to provide feedback. The goal is to encourage open communication between residents and police in order to strengthen existing relationships, a police spokesperson said in a press advisory.

"The Pflugerville Police Department exists to serve the community and ensure that current and future policies and measures are in their best interest," the police spokesperson wrote. "The program improves community-police relations and trust, one cup of coffee at a time."
Concurrently, the Pflugerville Police Department will also be collecting new toys and non-perishable food items for its Blue Santa initiative at the coffee chat. "By donating to Blue Santa, residents help make sure every Pflugerville family gets the holiday that they deserve," the police spokesperson wrote in an email.
