Pflugerville Police Schedule Flag Football Game Against Falcons

The match-up pits the city's finest against the Pflugerville Falcon Special athletes, who are pretty fine folks in their own right.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Pflugerville Police Department officers will team up with Pflugerville Falcon Special Olympic athletes next week for a game of flag football, officials said Thursday.

Dubbed the "Rumble in the 'Ville," the game is scheduled on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Kickoff time is 6:30 p.m. at the Hendrickson High School football stadium at 2905 FM 685. The officers will compete against the Falcons for the privilege of bragging rights, officials noted.

All proceeds from the event will be used to purchase new shirts for the Falcons' future competitions, according to police officials.

“This event will recognize and celebrate our athletes as well as continue our wonderful partnership that has been developed with the Pflugerville Police Department,” Amy Wiesenhutter, Pflugerville ISD Special Olympics Coordinator, said.

Earlier this year, the Pflugerville Police Department helped to send off the Falcons to the 2017 Special Olympics Texas Summer Games. In addition to flag football, the Falcons participate in a variety of other sports including golf, aquatics, bowling, basketball, track and soccer.
