Pflugerville Police Urge Residents To Safeguard Vehicles After Recent Burglary

Resident on Caribou Ridge Trail provided home surveillance footage of a suspect burglarizing car under the cover of darkness.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Police are urging residents to safeguard their vehicles after a car was recently broken into under the cover of darkness.

In a Wednesday advisory, city officials said a vehicle on Caribou Ridge Trail was burglarized in late January. The victim subsequently provided footage from a home surveillance camera to police, showing washed-out images of the suspect.

He's described as being of medium build and was wearing a light-colored hoodie, tight blue sport pants with a white emblem on the left side and colored tennis shoes with white soles.

Police offer the following tips to residents to prevent being victimized:

  • Always keep your vehicle locked.
  • Completely close all windows and sunroofs.
  • Hide garage door openers, keys and other home-entry devices.
  • Do not keep purses or other valuables in your car.
  • Stash items before you go, so it is not obvious you put items in your trunk or were hiding items out of clear view as you exit your vehicle.
  • Secure items in your trunk or hidden trunk compartments.
  • Consider security cameras and outdoor motion lights.
