Two Hurt In Pflugerville Shooting (Updated)
A woman in her 50s and a man in his 20s were hospitalized after a shootout near city's recreational center Wednesday afternoon.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Two people were hospitalized after a shootout in Pflugerville on Wednesday that led to the temporary closure of the city's recreational center, police said.
The shooting occurred shortly after 1 p.m. Pflugervile police received a disturbance call along the 700 block of Botany Bay Circle in the Cambridge Heights subdivision, according to a city email sent to Patch. Witnesses reported multiple shots fired as two men fired at each other.
Three men were reported jumping into a red Camaro with another man in a Hyundai Sedan giving chase. The driver of the Camaro then drove to the Pflugerville Recreation Center in the 400 block of Immanuel Drive seeking assistance, police said. Consequently, the recreation area has been temporarily closed to accommodate a police investigation.

By Wednesday evening, police provided more details. The gunshot wound victims were described as a woman in her 50s who sustained critical gunshot wounds, and a man in his 20s reported in stable condition. Police said in the update that they have accounted for all the participants in the shooting.
As police investigate further, they urge residents along Botany Bay Circle with home surveillance cameras to provide the footage to law enforcement officials as part of the Digital Neighborhood Watch program. To participate, residents with camera footage should contact CIDTIPS@pflugervilletx.gov. Those with information about the incident that would aid in the police investigation are urged to call 512-990-6730. Moreover, any residents with surveillance cameras are encouraged, in the wake of the incident, to register their cameras on file at www.pflugervilletx.gov/watch.

Police made a point to categorize the incident as "isolated," and there was no further "threat to the public" — verbiage utilized by police to convey an incident in which those involved know each other and aren't randomly targeting members of the public.
