Pflugerville Residents Invited To 'Welcome Run' For New Officers
Police Chief Jessica Robledo invites member of the public to greet new crop of 9 recruits as they wind down from downtown run.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — The public is invited to come out and show support for the Pflugerville Police Department's newest group of officers during the chief's "welcome run."
Police Chief is scheduled to spearhead the welcome during the downtown run through downtown at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6. Nine new officer are poised to graduate after several weeks of training and education to prepare them to serve the public starting this month.
Pflugerville PD command staff will join the officers on the approximately 1-mile run, which will begin at Gilleland Creek Park (700 N. Railroad Ave.) and continue on North Railroad Avenue, West Walnut Street and City Park Road before concluding under the Gilleland Creek Park pavilion.

The public is welcome to join the officers on their run or greet them as they pass to show support to the new additions to the police force.
“We encourage anyone who would like to show support for our officers to come out and say hi,” Robledo said. “This is our largest graduating class, and we’d like to take this time to thank them for choosing to serve Pflugerville.”

The nine officers have been running around Lake Pflugerville during training with a class flag that will be used to lead the Welcome Run, officials said. Parking for the event is available at City Park, along City Park Road and Valley Meadow Drive, and at Gilleland Pool. Water and coffee will be available at the Gilleland Creek Park pavilion.
