City officials are determined to rename the street because they say that emergency responders could confuse Pinyon Pine Lane for Pinon Pine Drive in the Heatherwilde subdivision. The issue has already been discussed at two City Council meetings and is on the agenda for a Nov. 24 meeting
Stacy Boeck, the civilian director of 911 emergency services, sent a memo to city officials detailing the confusion. She said that a, “potential problem with emergency services working under pressure to get officers, fire trucks and/or ambulances to the correct location.”

On the other hand, citizens who live on Pinyon Pine Lane do not want to have to go through the inconvenient process of changing their address on important documents and licenses.
Emily Barron, city planning director, echoed those concerns during a Nov. 10 meeting.
“This is a hardship to owners who have property on the street,” Barron said, according to the Statesman. “They will have to go through changing their addresses with a variety of entities.”
Currently, there are four homes built on Pinyon Pine Lane, and seven more are being built reported the Statesman.
Papershell Street was chosen from a list of five names — Papershell Street, Spicebrush Drive, Silverlock Drive and Douglas Spruce Drive — by the designer of the Falcon Pointe subdivision.
