Pflugerville Schedules Clean Up Day
All manner of stuff -- from bulky items to scrap metal -- can be disposed of during this citywide spring cleaning of sorts.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- The city is cleaning up its act -- literally.
April 9 has been designated as Clean Up Day citywide, and officials are reminding residents what they can dispose of, throw out on the curb for pickup and recycle.
Clean Up Day runs from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the ninth along Railroad Avenue.

Clean Up Day provides for disposal of items including:
- Scrap metal items, electronics (TVs/Computers), water-based latex paint, vehicle batteries, motor oil. • Recycle Center items also accepted - tires (limit 4 per participant), brush and tree limbs.
- Trash is also taken at Clean Up Day.
- No commercial contractors.
- Residents and City of Pflugerville utility customers only - each vehicle will be asked to show proof of residency (Photo ID) and utility bill. Be ready for the day by visiting www.pflugervilletx.gov/cleanup for more details on items accepted. Items not accepted include roofing shingles and hazardous household chemicals.
"Now is this is the time to review what you can already put curbside on your trash and recycle day," city officials said. "Don't wait in line at Clean Up Day for items you could've just put on the curb."

What you can throw out curbside
- Bulky items - furniture and mattresses are taken curbside on your trash day.
- Refrigerators and freezers are taken curbside if you have freon removed by a licensed technician and a certification sticker applied to the item.
- Up to 6 items (bags of trash, furniture, etc.) can be placed curbside with your trash cart on your trash day.
- Glass bottles, plastics, aluminum and newspaper can all go in your recycle cart. (Please don't bag your recycling).
What you can take to the City Recycle Center
The city recycle center located at 15500 Sun Light Near Way and is open Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and accepts items not recycled curbside to include: brush and tree limbs, leaves, vehicle batteries, transmission fluid, motor oil, Anti-freeze, oil filters and tires (up to 4 per year).
The facility collects recyclable materials only; no trash is accepted as it contaminates the recycle bins. For a full list of items accepted at the Recycle Center, visit www.pflugervilletx.gov/recyclecenter.
