Pflugerville To Stage Its First 'Public Safety Day'
Event this coming Saturday will feature bicycle rodeo aimed at promoting safe riding as a kickoff to National Night Out.

PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS — The Pflugerville Police Department will host its first annual Public Safety Day this coming Saturday.
The Sept. 29 event scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pfield, 1440 W. Pecan St. will feature a bicycle rodeo event enabling children to enjoy learning about safe riding while racing against the clock through a series of challenging obstacles. Participants are encouraged to bring along their own helmets or secure a loaner at the event on a first come, first served basis.
The event offers safety instructions, riding instructions and displays by Central Texas Law Enforcement Agencies featuring the Pflugerville Police Department K-9 unit, crime scene, volunteers, motorcycles, and recruiting. There will be safe target shooting for children (NERF) and various food trucks.

Public Safety Day is the kick-off to National Night Out as residents and neighborhood coordinators of National Night Out events can pick their block party packets for the upcoming NNO on October 2. Neighborhoods wanting to register for National Night Out, can sign up at www.pflugervilletx.gov/nno.
