Pflugerville Under Stage 2 Water Restrictions Despite Record-Breaking Rainfall
The restrictions are more of an insurance policy for the upcoming summer months when water might get more scarce, city officials suggested.
PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- In the wake of record-shattering rainfall, it seems odd to consider that Pflugerville is under Stage 2 water restrictions. But it's true.
City officials on Monday confirmed residents are limited to twice-a-week watering. It's more of a preemptive strike for the hot summer months ahead rather than a focus on the torrential downpours in the last couple of months that have left area lake levels higher than average.
"As the city enters what is traditionally the hottest, driest months of the year from June to August, the lakes may not be full for much longer," city officials explain on the municipal website. "Stage 2 provides flexibility as residents may water twice a week and wash cars with a hand-held nozzle on your designated watering days.

To that end, watering is permitted on your watering day before 10 a.m. or after 7 p.m. to help avoid evaporation.
"These restrictions are good rules of practice to make sure water is not wasted," the folks at the city said.
