Poised For First Summer Season, Typhoon Texas To Unveil Major Children's Attraction
Four-story Gully Washer will be among water park features when it officially launches summer season on May 27.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Ahead of its first summer season in the Austin area, the Typhoon Texas water park will unveil its new children's attraction later this month.
The summer season opens May 27 and will feature the new, four-story Gully Washer children's attraction, theme park officials said. Officials called it a major step in the transformation of the water park located at 18500 North SH 130 service road.
“We are so excited for families to come experience Typhoon Texas,” said Typhoon Texas Austin General Manager Ty Weitzel. “The younger kids will absolutely love the Gully Washer—it dumps and sprays water every five minutes, and it has so many nozzles and toys for kids to play with for hours. Families and friends are going to have Texas-sized fun at our water park this summer!”

Designed for children ages 3 to 10, the Gully Washer features an 800-gallon water bucket, more than 100 spray areas, eight platforms, seven slides, elevated walkways and rope bridges, officials explained. A new splash pad for younger children ages 2 to 4 was also added, officials added.
Grand opening festivities for Typhoon Texas Austin begin Friday, May 26 with a sneak peek exclusively for season pass holders. The water park opens to the public Saturday, May 27. The park will have live music Friday, Saturday and Sunday, officials said.

The theme park is scheduled to open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. with extended hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Season pass holders get in early than the unwashed masses (in this case, unsplashed) by a full 30 minutes to enjoy the park for that amount of time before the throngs arrive.
The park will also offer extended hours for special theme nights and group gatherings for schools, churches and company outings, park officials explained.
