NORTH AUSTIN, TX — They got him: Austin police this week announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with a pair of recent home invasion robberies.
Member of the Region 3 Metro Tactical Unit arrested David Cardenas, 22, for a home invasion robbery that occurred on May 22 along the 700 block of Longspur Boulevard. Police said Cardenas also was charged with a subsequent home invasion on May 24 along the 1500 block of West Braker Lane.
In the earlier home invasion, Cardenas is accused of kicking in the door of an apartment while its occupants were sleeping inside. A woman inside the apartment was awakened by the home invasion before Cardenas allegedly threatened her while demanding valuables and then fleeing the scene. The woman and other occupants were uninjured, police said.
