Police ID Fatality In Dump Truck Vs. Mustang North Austin Crash
Robert David Register, 29, died the day after his car was hit by a dump truck at corner of North Capital of Texas Highway, Courtyard Drive.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Tuesday identified the person killed in a crash last Thursday in North Austin between a dump truck and a Ford Mustang.
The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. on July 13 at the intersection of North Capital of Texas Highway and Courtyard Drive. An investigation revealed that a Kenworth dump truck was traveling southbound in the left lane of North Capital of Texas Highway when it struck the Mustang on the passenger side at Courtyard Drive.
Both vehicles continued southbound through the intersection through the force of the impact, striking a parked and unattended Dodge Grand Caravan before the skidding came to a stop. The driver of the Mustang, Robert David Register, 29, was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center by Austin-Travis County EMS medics, where he died the next day.

The incident marked Austin’s 32nd fatal traffic crash and the 34th fatality of 2017, police noted. At this time in 2016, there were 35 fatal traffic crashes and 35 traffic fatalities, officials added.
