Police ID Man Who Died After Slamming Car Into Tree While Speeding
Conner Paul Bovee, 22, was traveling at a high rate of speed before slamming into a tree in the 7000 block of North Lamar Boulevard.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Tuesday released the name of the motorist killed late last month after slamming his car into a tree.
According to a preliminary police investigation, Conner Paul Bovee, 22, was traveling along the 7000 block of North Lamar Boulevard in a 2007 Honda Civic at a high rate of speed. Bovee lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree along the east curb line of North Lamar, police said.
Bovee was pronounced dead at the scene. Toxicology results are pending to determine if alcohol consumption played a role in the collision, according to police.

The incident marked Austin’s 69th fatal traffic crash and the 71st fatality of 2016. At this time in 2015, there were 91 traffic fatalities in Austin, police said.
