Investigators said Tracy Allen Dam, 48, revved his motor at another driver before quickly accelerating and losing control of motorcycle.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Tuesday identified the motorcyclist killed last week in the northeast part of Austin.

According to a preliminary police investigation, a motorcyclist traveling on a 2015 red Ducati was traveling southbound along the 1100 block of Pearl Retreat Drive when he pulled alongside another vehicle and revved the motor. He then quickly accelerated, causing the front wheel of the bike to life off the ground. The motorcyclist lost control of the two-wheeler while the front tire was elevated, jumping the east curb and skidding across the street before hitting a fence on the west side of the roadway, police said.

The motorcyclist was transported to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. The motorcyclist was identified as Tracy Allen Dam, an Asian male who was 48 years old.
