Police ID Motorcyclist Killed In North Austin Crash
Daryl Wayne Anderson Jr., 36, was traveling along eastbound lane of 6600 block of East Howard Lane when he lost control and hit a curb.
AUSTIN, TX — Police on Monday released details on the death of a motorcyclist killed after leaving the roadway in the northeast part o the city last week.
According to a police press advisory, Daryl Wayne Anderson Jr., 36, on Aug. 7 was traveling on a Harley Davidson motorcycle along the eastbound lane of the 6600 block of East Howard Lane just before 7:30 p.m. when he struck a curb. The impact caused the bike to flip over multiple times in a center grassy median.
Anderson was rushed to St. David's Round Rock Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just after 8:30 p.m. Police noted speed does not appear to have been a factor in the crash, but Anderson was not wearing at helmet at the time of the crash.

The fatal motorcycle crash marked Austin’s 47th fatal traffic crash of 2019, police said, resulting in 48 fatalities this year. At this time in 2018, police added, there were 40 fatal traffic crashes and 41 traffic fatalities.
