Police ID Pedestrian Killed By Vehicle In North Austin Collision

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Tuesday revealed the identify of the pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a vehicle last Friday.
Police were dispatched to the 5900 block of Middle Fiskville Road for an auto-pedestrian crash just before midnight on Aug. 17. Upon their arrival, officers found a dead woman in the roadway with obvious trauma consistent with being struck by a vehicle, police said in a press advisory.
The woman, Zenaida Mae Adair, 27. had been struck by a bus, and the driver stayed at the scene. But it's as yet undetermined if the woman may have been struck by another vehicle prior to being run over by the bus, officials said.

Police continue to investigate the case, asking for anyone with information to call the APD Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-8544. Those with information also can submit tips by downloading APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, for free on iPhone and Android.
The incident marked Austin’s 42nd fatal traffic crash of 2018, resulting in 43 fatalities this year, police noted. At this time in 2017, there were 40 fatal traffic crashes and 42 traffic fatalities, officials added.
