NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Thursday released the name of a senior citizen pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car last week.

Ronnie Lee Hall, 65, was struck along the 1830 block of East Anderson Lane just before 9 a.m. on March 24. A preliminary investigation found a silver Volvo was traveling eastbound along the artery at the east-to-west turnaround while Hall was crossing mid-block eastbound when he was hit by the car's right side.

Hall was rushed to University Medical Center Brackenridge with critical injuries, and pronounced dead just after 8 p.m. that same day. Police noted that Hall had previous "Pedestrian in the Roadway" offenses for walking across streets not marked for pedestrian crossing.
