Police Raid Illegal Gambling Operation in North Austin
A confidential source told police about the gaming room, which had become a scene of increased violence.

Police led a raid on an illegal gambling operation in North Austin that resulted in one arrest for the promotion of gambling, police said.
The police said they became aware of the game room from a confidential source. The gambling room, located near the intersection of Rundberg Lane and Middle Fiskville Road, had become a source of increase violent crime prior to the raid, police said.
Inside the gambling room police found electronic 8-liner slot machines. It’s not a crime to own the machines, but police said it is illegal to award winners cash payouts.

The owner became sick during the raid and had to be taken away in an ambulance in cuffs. She was arrested for the promotion of gambling, according to police.
Two other people were given citations for illegal gambling as a result of the raid. Warrants are pending for a second person working in the game room, police said.
