North Austin Shooting Suspects Sought
Incident along 1600 block of Rutland Drive left man with life-threatening injuries after he was shot multiple times late Monday.
NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police seek help from the public in locating a suspect in an overnight shooting in North Austin, officials said on Tuesday.
Officers responded to a shooting on Monday just before midnight at an apartment complex along the 1600 block of Rutland Drive where they found a 46-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said in a press advisory. By the time police arrived, the suspects had fled the scene.
The victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. A preliminary police investigation revealed the victim was approached by multiple suspects in the parking lot. before being shot, police said. The motive behind the violence is unclear, police added.

The suspects are described as:
- Suspect #1 black male, 18-19 years old, black hoodie, thin build.
- Suspect #2 black male, 18-19 years old, gray hoodie, thin build.
- Suspect #3 light-skinned black male, 18-19 years old, 1.5 “ spiky twists in hair, thin build.
- Possibly 4th black male suspect.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — A large presence of first responders descended to North Austin amid reports of a shooting late Monday.
The incident occurred along the 1600 block of Rutland Drive, Austin-Travis County EMS said in a midnight post ten minutes after the shooting was reported. One adult male victim in his 30s was rushed to a trauma center with injuries medics categorized as serious and potentially life-threatening.
It's unclear what may have led to the violence. No further details were released.
