Police Seek Information Related To Fatal North Austin Collision
An unidentified driver traveling at a high rate of speed along Spicewood Springs Road before slamming into a traffic pole.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police seek information from potential witnesses who may have seen a fatal auto collision that left a driver dead on Sunday.
Shortly after 10 p.m. on Nov. 5, a red, 2007 Mazda 6 was traveling southbound on Spicewood Springs Road at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle before slamming into a traffic light pole on the southwest corner of Spicewood and Scotland Well Drive.
The driver, a white man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not been able to identify him, officials said in a press advisory.

The case is still being investigated. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the APD Vehicular Homicide Unit at (512) 974-4424. Tips also can be submitted by downloading APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, for free on iPhone and Android.
Police noted the collision marked Austin’s 58th fatal traffic crash and the 60thfatality of 2017. At this time in 2016, there were 59 fatal traffic crashes and 60 traffic fatalities, police added.
