Missing North Austin Woman Found Safe

Officials had issued a plea for assistance late Sunday, saying Alexus Giles, 18, hadn't been seen since Friday, March 6, at 5:43 p.m.

UPDATE: A woman who went missing in North Austin over the weekend ultimately was found safe, police said on Monday.

AUSTIN, TX — Police seek help from the public in locating a missing woman who was last seen on Friday, officials said.

Officials issued the plea for assistance late Sunday, saying Alexus Giles, 18, hadn't been seen since Friday, March 6, at 5:43 p.m. The missing woman goes by the name of Lexi and Lexilu, police noted. He was last seen near Children Drive in North Austin, police added.

Giles was last seen wearing a red headband, gray v-neck shirt, pink/white colored leggings, teal Nike sneakers and small hoop earrings. Police said she has black hair that was in a ponytail when last seen, brown eyes and wears glasses. She stands approximately five feet, two inches tall and weights about 225 pounds.

Concern for the woman is heightened given intellectual and development disabilities. Anyone aware of Giles' whereabouts is urged to dial 9-1-1.
