Police Seek Suspects In North Austin Jewelry Store Heist (Video)

In a brazen afternoon robbery, two men are said to have entered a store while displaying a gun before fleeing on foot with stolen goods.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying two suspects accused of committing aggravated robbery of a jewelry business this past weekend.

The heist occurred at the 6300 block of the Interstate 35 service road (police didn't identify the business) on Saturday, Nov. 25 at around 4:40 p.m. The suspects are said to have entered the store while displaying a handgun before fleeing on foot with stolen jewelry. Both suspects were last seen walking eastbound from I-35/U.S. Highway 290.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The first suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 20 to 25 standing about six feet in height and weighing about 180 pounds. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, torn blue jeans, gray tennis shoes with black laces and dark sunglasses, all topped by a blue baseball hat.

Police releases surveillance camera still images and a video in the hopes someone might recognize the suspects and alert police as to their whereabouts. Those with information are urged to contact the Austin Police Department's Robbery Tip Line at (512) 974-5092, Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS or by using the new Crime Stoppers App. Those with tips also can submit them by downloading APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, for free on iPhone and Android.
