Two North Austin Runaways Found Safe (Updated)
Hiba Rashid, 14, is described as a runaway had fled her home along Masterson Pass on Monday, taking sister Rahaf Rashid, 7, with her.

UPDATE: Two girls who had been reported missing from their North Austin home were ultimately found safe, police said Wednesday night.
Police earlier said Hiba Rashid, 14, had run away from home, taking her 7-year-old sister, Rahaf Rashid, with her. The two girls hadn't been seen since Monday, with police alerted to their absence on Tuesday, according to a press advisory.
Both girls were ultimately found safe. No further details were given.

AUSTIN, TX — Austin police are asking for the public's help in locating a teen runaway who took along her younger sister, both of whom haven't been seen since Monday.

The girls — 14-year-old Hiba Rashid and 7-year-old Rahaf Rashid — were last seen at their home along the 600 block of Masterson Pass on Monday, May 27. Police said the elder girl ran away from home, taking her younger sibling with her.
Police said the incident was first reported to them on Tuesday, May 28. Hiba, the older of the two, is described as a Middle Eastern/Asian female standing at four feet, ten inches in height and weighing about 88 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. The 7-year-old also is of Middle Eastern/Asian ancestry, standing at three feet, six inches and weighing 40 pounds. Like her sister, she has black hair and brown eyes.

The Austin Police Department released photos of the girls in the hopes someone might recognize them and alert police. Anyone seeing the missing girls is urged to call 911 immediately. Tips also can be submitted by downloading the APD app for free on iPhone and Android.
