The restaurant, which has been closed for six years, will be located on 1508 W. Anderson Lane in North Austin. It will occupy the site of a former automobile shop and offer drive-thru service and outdoor seating.

Baby Green’s owner, Sharon Mays, was looking for the perfect location to reopen the restaurant, which is why it took six years, She hopes to inject a source of healthy food into the new neighborhood.

“It’s right in the middle of an asphalt jungle where no healthy food lives,” she told the newspaper. “It’s in a neighborhood I feel needs healthy fast food.”

The restaurant will bring back old customer favorites for the menu such as the Cobb, Greek and Sharon (chef’s) salads. The strawberry lemonade will also be making a comeback, which is sure to please the old crowd. Mays said she would also explore new menu items such as a kale salad and a seasonal farm-to-table option.

“I created this restaurant so that fast-food customers could have a healthy meal,” Mays told Community Impact. “A lot of times people don’t eat healthy food because it’s expensive. Can we serve organic and still make it affordable to someone who has $10 or less to spend on lunch?”
