ICYMI: Portion Of I-35 In North Austin Scheduled For Closure

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — A portion of Interstate 35 in North Austin are scheduled to be closed next week to accommodate overhead sign removal.
The closure will take place between Rundberg Lane and 51st Street to remove overhead sign bridges on Monday and Tuesday nights March 19-20.
Beginning at 11 p.m. on Monday, March 19, southbound I-35 will be reduced to two lanes between Rundberg Lane and US 290 East. At 1 a.m., a rolling closure will occur on the southbound I-35 main lanes and ramps from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East. The closures will be short, with ramps and mainlanes being reopened as work is completed. The southbound US 183 to southbound I-35 flyover will also be closed starting at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20.

Beginning at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, northbound I-35 will be reduced to two lanes between 51st Street and US 183. At 1 a.m., a rolling closure will occur on the northbound mainlanes and ramps from 51st Street to US 183. The closures will be short, with ramps and main lanes being re-opened as work is completed. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21.
