Portion Of Red River Street Closed This Weekend

Crews will close southbound right turn lane and adjacent southbound traffic lane north of MLK Jr. Boulevard to Robert Dedman Drive.

AUSTIN, TX — A portion of Red River Street will be closed to traffic this weekend, officials said.

Starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, crews will close the southbound right turn lane and adjacent southbound traffic lane of Red River Street north of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (MLK) from MLK to Robert Dedman Drive. The sidewalk on the north side of Red River will also be closed in this area.

The project is expected to be completed, with lanes opened, by 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17.

This closure is for milling, paving and restriping on Red River and is related to construction of utilities supporting Dell Medical School, University of Texas at Austin officials said.
