Public Hearings Set For Athletic Complex Plans
Long-planned sports venue would include up to 24 playing fields.

NORTH AUSTIN-PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- Pflugerville city officials have scheduled public hearings seeking residents’ input on the annexation of land to build a long-envisioned athletic complex.
At its December regular meeting, city council members agreed to annex 177 acres of land on which to build the planned sports complex, dubbed the Pflugerville Athletic Complex.
The city previously purchased acreage at the site for $4.3 million after gaining approval to raise $11 million in bonds for development of the venue.

Brisk population growth has seen an increase in youth sports and a subsequent demand for playing space. The planned facility would accommodates up to 24 playing fields to accommodate that demand.
A public hearing on the issue has been scheduled on city grounds for Jan. 12 at 100 E. Main St., Suite 500. A second one is scheduled to take place Jan. 16 at the same location.

After the pair of public hearings, the first reading on the annexation ordinance would take place Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. at the same location.
