Pflugerville Residents: Meet Your New City Manager
Day after her first city council meeting, Sereniah Breland will greet residents at Rock Gym located at 700 W. Pecan on Aug. 15.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Pflugerville residents are invited to meet their new city manager during a welcoming reception scheduled next week.
Sereniah Breland officially starts hjer new role as city manager on Monday, Aug. 13, and will attend her first city council meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 14. The following day, on Wednesday, Aug. 15, a welcome reception will be staged to allow residents to meet with Breland at the Rock Gym located at 700 W. Pecan from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Breland brings more than 15 years of government experience to the City of Pflugerville and"... shares the vision of the council to balance fast-paced growth while maintaining quality of life," officials explained. Among her accomplishments over the two years of public service to local government are facilitating long-range planning efforts with her council members, implementing capital improvement programs, and increasing internal professional organizational culture.

Breland earned a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University. She served as the City Manager of Alvin, Texas since 2015, and held other previous roles with the cities of Guthrie, Goliad, Sugar Land, Denton and Greenville. Breland’s involvement includes the At-Large Member on the Board of Executives for Texas City Management Association (TCMA) as elected by her peers.
Additionally, Breland facilitates the TCMA Ethics Training for colleagues, serves on the Membership Board and has held various positions previously with the International City Management Association, Oklahoma Municipal League, and City Management Association of Oklahoma. Additionally, Breland was named “Top 5 Public Servants” in 2012 by the Victoria Advocate newspaper.

Breland succeeds Brandon Wade who stepped down in order to take a job as assistant general manager for the Gulf Coast Water Authority.
