Revamped Holiday Hours Released

Altered hours for city offices; library; rec center; animal shelter; trash pickup.

NORTH AUSTIN-PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- Few things in life are more frustrating than running a pre-holiday errand or performing a chore—taking out the trash, loading up on library materials, hitting the gym, spontaneously adopting an animal—only to find your destination closed or the service unavailable.

Pflugerville officials have launched a pre-emptive strike against those frustrations, posting a comprehensive list on their municipal website on closures and department hours for the holiday season:

• The library and recreation enter will close at 6 pm. Dec. 23. All city offices, the animal shelter, rec center and library will be closed all day Dec. 24-25.

• The recycle center is closed the weekend of Dec. 25-28.

• In case of water/wastewater concerns, residents are urged to call the Police Department Citizens Communication line at (512) 251-4004. For emergencies, call 911.

• On New Year’s Day, both the library and rec center will be closed along with all city offices. Early closure will be in effect on New Year’s Eve, at 6 p.m.

• Trash service won’t be conducted on Christmas and New Year’s Day, but will resume Dec. 27 and Jan 2. On the weeks of Christmas and New Year, Friday customers will get pickup on Saturday. Residents are urged to place their carts curbside at the usual 7 a.m. time for pickup.
