Missing North Austin Man Found Safe

Alfredo Gonzales, 80, who had last been seen Sunday morning at 207 W. Odell St., has been located, police said on Monday afternoon.

UPDATE: Police on Monday afternoon reported that Alfredo Gonzales, 80, who went missing from his home at 207 W. Odell St. on Sunday morning, was located and is now safe.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police seek help from the public in finding an elderly man who went missing Sunday morning, officials said.

Alfredo Gonzales, 80, was last seen on Sunday morning at 207 W. Odell St. in North Austin wearing a blue striped shirt and blues jeans while traveling on foot with the aid of a red walker, according to Texas Alerts.

Austin police said Gonzales left his residence on Odell Street at 8 a.m. on Sept., and has not been seen since. He typically rides Capital Metro as his mode of transportation, and is known to frequent the Jack in the Box restaurant near Highland Mall and the HEB at Hancock Center, police said.

Police released a photo of Gonzales in the hopes someone might recognize them and alert to his whereabouts.

Concern for Gonzales is heightened given his advanced age and medical conditions, police said. Anyone who sees him should contact the Austin Police Department at (512) 974-5000 or call 911.
