- The Travis County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) is searching for Luis Angel Montes, 35, whom they said is accused of killing 38-year-old Camerina Trujillo Perez. The couple from Pflugerville had been missing since Monday, Jan. 24, although both were reported missing by family on Tuesday, Jan. 25. According to investigators, "Montes had reportedly made threatening statements about her in the past." A warrant has been issued for his arrest and bail is set at $1 million. - Blue Starlite Drive-In, in collaboration with Garbo's Fresh Maine Lobster, are opening a location in North Austin near The Domain, at 12709 N. Mopac Expressway. A soft opening is scheduled Friday, Feb. 18, with a 7:30 p.m. screening of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." Josh Frank, Blue Starlite founder said, "For years, we have been looking for the right spot in North Austin... We have finally found it... Through our collaboration with Garbo's, our North Austin drive-in will offer Car Slot packages that include beach-themed dinners and desserts from the restaurant and its adjoining Connor's Creamery ice cream truck."
