Road travel discouraged ahead of major storm system that could produce tornadoes.

NORTH AUSTIN-PFLUGERVILLE, TX -- Major traffic delays and flight cancellations are expected this weekend with the arrival of major storms in the area beginning Saturday night.

AccuWeather.com officials urge those who don’t absolutely need to travel this weekend to stay home and wait out a storm system that could produce tornadoes throughout the state.

“The biggest threat will be heavy rain and damaging winds with these storms, but the strongest storms can produce tornadoes,” AccuWeather meteorologist Matt Rinde said.
